Kevin Durant has asked for a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and the team is working with the superstar on finding an acceptable trade offer, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
That’s huge new for the Rockets, who own the rights to Nets’ first round picks for the next five years.
As part of the 2021 trade for James Harden, who already has been dealt to Philadelphia, Brooklyn gave the Rockets unprotected first-round picks in 2022 – which the Rockets used to select LSU’s Tari Eason at No. 17 – 2024 and 2026. The Rockets also have the right to swap their own first-round pick for Brooklyn’s in 2023, 2025 and 2027.
