The Houston Rockets are sitting high on their horse as they start their ascent in the Western Conference standings. With a full commitment to their small-ball concept of play, they are tearing apart the competition one-by-one.
This strategy is not taking down not only the bad teams but some damn good ones — Los Angeles Lakers anyone? — along the way and they aren’t taking any prisoners.
They’ve gone 11-2 since their change of pace and it’s actually quite refreshing to see. They’re getting boards, they’re playing better defense, they’re forcing turnovers and Russell Westbrook is getting an open lane to do whatever the hell he wants which is a dangerous weapon, especially come playoff time.
