When news hit the media last Sunday that Moses Malone was dead at age 60 it shocked many who knew him. Over the course of the weekend he had attended Hall of Fame activities and was scheduled to participate in a charity golf tournament on the day of his death.
Former teammates, franchises (including ones he played for as well as ones he didn’t), journalists who knew him and fans were in a state of shock as Malone hadn’t been ill. News came shortly after that the Virgina chief medical examiner determined Malone had died of natural causes.
