Let’s delve into a deeper look at the man dubbed as the “Chinese Sensation,” none other than Zhou Qi. He was drafted 43rd overall in the 2nd round, by Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey in the 2016 NBA draft. Qi was originally a draft-and-stash prospect, which is an ideal fit for Mike D’Antoni‘s offensive system.
When Mr. Morey drafted Qi, he said that Qi “has the potential to become the best Chinese player since Yao Ming.”
Those are pretty big shoes to fill, mainly because Yao Ming is a Hall of Famer!
