James Harden and the Houston Rockets began 2017 the same way they ended 2016, winning in record breaking fashion.
On New Year’s Eve James Harden lit the Knicks for a new career high 53 points (9 triples), 16 boards, and 17 dimes. With this stat stuffing line, “The Beard” became the first player in NBA history to post a triple double with a 50-15-15 line. And, in the process tied the great Wilt Chamberlain, for the most points in a triple double. This game gave Harden five triple-doubles in December and got him voted as the Western Conference player of the month.
