The Houston Rockets made waves when they signed Ben McLemore to the roster for the upcoming season. At the time it made sense, as the contract was non-guaranteed, which meant he was essentially being offered an invite to training camp.
That caveat made it a good decision, as the team could have easily cut their ties if McLemore wasn’t able to impress during the preseason. However, the Rockets have since lost Gerald Green for a significant amount of time (if not the entire season), and that instantly gave McLemore a bigger role than initially anticipated.
