Must be pretty tough sitting on the bench cheering for your team while they get pounded and ponder if you were playing maybe things could be different. That’s likely what went through Donatas Motiejunas’ head when the Rockets got eliminated in 5 games to the Warriors. However painful that was, the Lithuanian’s season was a breakthrough and could be considered a success in almost every other account.
Playing most of the year as a starter, either as a center or a power forward, Motiejunas made the most out of the unfortunate injuries of his teammates Howard and Jones and was able to showcase his abilities at a level we have not seen before.
