The chase for the 2019 NBA Most Valuable Player Award is over.
James Harden did not win it.
The guard once again put up an insanely prolific stat line, averaging a league best 36 points per game (the Thunder's Paul George finished second in that stat with just over 28 points per game). Harden also averaged almost 8 steals, 7 rebounds and two steals per game.
But, in the end, a younger player, one with greater athleticism and lesser stats took home that trophy.
