This past weekend the Rio Olympics basketball tournament began on Saturday with current Houston Rockets rookie Zhou Qi playing Saturday. But it was the opening ceremonies which saw a former player receive the greatest honor.
Luis Scola who played with the Rockets for five seasons from 2007-08 through to 2011-12 was the man of the hour for Argentina as he led his entire team into Olympic stadium carrying the flag.
Scola who played the past season with the Toronto Raptors signed with the Brooklyn Nets in free agency this summer. He along with Manu Ginobili represent the elder statesmen for the Argentinian basketball team.
