Ryan Anderson's first phone call after signing a four-year, $80 million deal with the Houston Rockets wasn't to his parents or girlfriend.
He dialed Eric Gordon.
"I don't even know what I sounded like," Anderson said. "That whole moment was a bit outside of myself."
Multiple times Saturday, the two men who Houston signed for a combined $133 million looked at each other with grins on their faces. For the past four seasons, they were teammates with the New Orleans Pelicans. Anderson invited Gordon to his home for dinners, and during the past season they discussed joining the same team in free agency.
