Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden is slated to be a free agent after the 2022-23 season, and the former MVP made a notable move in preparation of the upcoming summer on Tuesday.
Harden has hired former Adidas executive Troy Payne of Equity Basketball, marking his first full-time agent since 2017, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. Harden has represented himself in contract negotiations in recent years, including his two-year, $68 million deal with Philadelphia that he signed last summer. Harden added an opt-out after the first year of the aforementioned deal, which he can trigger and subsequently enter free agency this summer.
