Rockets center Dwight Howard appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday to support #BestSchoolDay a call to fund supplies and resources requested by public school teachers.
Howard, through the D12 Foundation and DonorsChoose.org, donated all requested books and other materials for Pre-K through Grade 2 in public schools in Houston.
"I think the foundation for learning starts with Pre-K through second grade," Howard said. "In America and across the world, I think we take those years for granted. I think it's very important that we teach our kids from a young age, give them a foundation of learning, especially reading, because it's a necessity.
