In a season with few on-court victories to celebrate, Houston Rockets fans watched along with glee in February when the Brooklyn Nets' super-team experiment came to a fiery end with the trade of Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns.
Brooklyn and Houston became officially intertwined in January 2021. Forced with a trade demand from James Harden, the Rockets reached a deal with the Nets to send the former MVP to Brooklyn in return for a near-historic return of draft capital. The Nets created the league's newest Big 3 with the deal, as Harden joined Durant and current Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving.
