CEO of Gulf States Toyota interested in purchasing Rockets

Another Houston billionaire is interested in buying the Rockets from Leslie Alexander, who put the team up for sale last month.

Dan Friedkin, the owner and CEO of Gulf States Toyota, said in a statement released to Fox 26 that he has “expressed interest in exploring the purchase” of the Rockets.

Analysts have said the Rockets could go for as much as the $2 billion that the Clippers sold for in 2014.

Friedkin’s net worth is estimated at $3.1 billion by Forbes. Gulf States Toyota, which employs 1,900 in the Houston area and serves 157 dealer locations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas, had $8.
