Rockets assistant coach Roy Rogers will not be back with the team next season, his agent Warren LeGarie said Friday, making Rogers the second assistant on Mike D'Antoni's staff for the past three seasons that will not be offered a new contract.
The contracts for Rogers and Jeff Bzdelik, who had been the Rockets' associate head coach, are up at the end of the month. D'Antoni has one season remaining on his contract, the team option that the Rockets picked up before the season.
LeGarie said the uncertainty about D'Antoni's contract beyond this season gave Rogers, 45, reason to consider other options, though he said that the Rockets had not offered a deal to bring him back.
