The Houston Rockets expanded their collection of young talent in June when they selected Reed Sheppard with the No. 3 pack in the 2024 NBA draft. The newest member of Houston's young "Core 7" lived up to his considerable hype during summer workouts with the Rockets in Los Angeles.
"[He's very poised]," Rockets guard Amen Thompson said Wednesday in his assessment of Sheppard. "Got [Steph] Curry range, so that's the first thing you notice. Very poised player, very good guy."
The Steph Curry comparison is jarring given Sheppard's grand total of zero NBA minutes thus far.
