The Houston Rockets’ offseason went from boring to crazy real fast during NBA Free Agency by trading Chris Paul for Russell Westbrook. The Rockets hadn’t made many notable moves after saying they were looking to alter the roster and it appeared they were just going to run it back. That is, until they made one of the biggest moves of the year by landing Westbrook. Excluding Russ, the Rockets biggest free agency signing consisted of re-signing their own players like Danuel House, Gerald Green, Austin Rivers and signing Tyson Chandler.
The Rockets made no NBA Draft picks this year, although they did sign some notable undrafted free agents in Shamoire Ponds and Chris Clemons. Neither is guaranteed a roster spot, but Clemons has really impressed in the Rockets’ Summer League Games.

In NBA Free Agency, the Rockets added two players (so far): Tyson Chandler and Anthony Bennett. Chandler will provide depth at center, while Bennett is on a non-guaranteed deal. He played better in the G-League last year, but he is not a lock to make the roster.
In other Rockets News, they re-signed several players: Gerald Green, Austin Rivers and Danuel House. All three should help the Rockets’ bench this year. Shooting will remain key for the Rockets’ offense under head coach Mike D’Antoni.
