The Houston Rockets have all but secured the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, and many would assume they would start thinking about resting some of their key players so they can be completely healthy for the start of the playoffs.
James Harden would be a prime candidate for that given that he has been playing with a jammed left wrist since March 18, but after their loss to the Warriors on Tuesday, Harden told ESPN's Calvin Watkins that he has no plans to sit.
"It's pretty tough, man, I'm not going to lie," Harden said about playing through the injury. "I don't like to feel sorry for myself at all, but just the shot is short and frustrating when you can't really follow through and whatnot. I'm going to continue to go out there and do my best, and honestly, we gave ourselves a chance -- not making 3s, we still fought fought, fought. We cut it to six and they hit some big shots."
Earlier the week, Harden had expressed how important he thinks it is to play in every game.
"For me, I worry about always having my teammates' back and always being out there. I'm going to have [my teammates'] back, and they know that they have mine as well. For the coaching staff and the fans, especially here in Houston, the front office, I'm here to play."
Harden has played in all 74 games this year, and has only missed one practice. He currently is second in the NBA with 29.3 points per game and leads the league with 11.4 assists per game.
