The Houston Rockets have reportedly been in on trade talks for star Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo for quite some time now, leading to speculation that negotiations could get much more serious with Houston's in-state rivals, the Dallas Mavericks, in the fray.
Following ESPN NBA insider Marc Stein's bombshell that the Mavs and Celtics are in "substantive discussions" surrounding Rondo, Stein named the Rockets as another team who could play a major role in trade discussions:

With the very real possibility that Dragic will look to leave Phoenix's three-featured guard system for a team where he can be the man at point guard, Houston may very well pass on a trade for Rondo right now in hopes of locking up the dynamic Dragic on a long-term deal.
