Report: Trevor Ariza agrees to four-year deal with Rockets, Parsons gone?

The Houston Rockets have reached a four-year agreement with free agent swingman Trevor Ariza, potentially meaning the end of Chandler Parsons' time with the team.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Rockets will pay Ariza quite handsomely to make the tough decision to leave the Washington Wizards:

While the Rockets could still technically match Parsons' offer sheet, an earlier ESPN report indicates that Houston management were looking at Ariza as a cost-effective replacement for Parsons. Parsons would make over $15 million per year on his current offer, while comparitively, per Wojnarowski, Ariza's deal stands as extremely cap-friendly for the Rockets going forward:

Ariza had a banner year for the Wizards during their run to the Eastern Conference Semifinals last season, averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during the regular season while establishing himself as a valuable commodity from a rotation-flexibility standpoint.

This is not Ariza's first go-around with the Houston Rockets, as he averaged a career highs in points (14.9), assists (3.8), steals (1.8), and blocks (.6) per game during his one season with the team in 2009-10.
