With the 18th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets select Sam Dekker out of Wisconsin.
Position: Small Forward
School: Wisconsin
Class: Junior
Measurables: 6’9”, 229 lbs.
Analysis:
Dekker elite size and athleticism at the small forward position, and the versatile offensive game he displayed in the NCAA Tournament has some scouts thinking he could wind up being a star in the NBA. He is an excellent three-point shooter and a solid finisher around the basket, but his defense is inconsistent at times. Still, he’s too quick to be guarded by taller players and too big to be effective guarded by quicker players, creating a mismatch every time he steps on the court.
