Sofia Huerta and Sydney FC fell to Melbourne City FC 3-1 on Friday morning in a rematch of the 2018 Grand Final. Huerta played 90 minutes in the back line as a right back winning more than half of her 14 duels (eight duels won) and finished with seven clearances. Offensively, Huerta forced a save in the 83rd minute with a left-footed shot that was handled in the bottom corner of the near post. Kyah Simon did not dress for Melbourne due to an achilles injury.
Clare Polkinghorne and Brisbane Roar FC will look for their first victory of the season on Saturday as they travel south to face Western Sydney at Marconi Stadium.
