Despite nine MLS loanees, Swope Park couldn’t handle the Toros in Kansas City.
With the season series split between RGVFC and Swope Park Rangers, both teams dominating the other at home, Saturday’s rubber match was much anticipated. Except this time around, it was more like Sporting KC with a few Swope players. The MLS side sent down nine players to get game action during an off week for the first team. It’s something that’s allowed with the MLS-USL affiliations, but not usually to that extent. The Toros trotted out their usual suspects, and showed no fear of the more experienced Swope lineup.
