The Toros brought an end to the Switchbacks’ two-game winning streak with three second-half goals at H-E-B Park. The Toros threatened first in the sixth minute when a long-range free kick by Camilo Monroy was turned wide of the left post by Switchbacks goalkeeper Andre Rawls, and RGVFC goalkeeper Nico Corti answered with a big save of his own in the 20th minute when he denied a close-range header by Jordan Burt.
RGVFC’s Romilio Hernandez almost broke through just past the half-hour mark with a long-range effort that rang off the crossbar, and Robert Coronado also threatened before halftime as he stung Rawls’ palms with a long-range effort, but 10 minutes into the second half the Toros took the lead when Wilmer Caberera Jr.
