The Houston Dynamo snapped a 10-game winless run in MLS regular season play, as they defeated the Portland Timbers 4-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday.
It was the Dynamo's first win in league play since July 7. The Timbers, meanwhile, break a three-game unbeaten run with the loss.
Portland got on the board early, as Alvas Powell's cross was deflected in by Houston defender Alejandro Fuenmayor, looping over Dynamo GK Joe Willis on its way in.
Houston then got back in the game in the 32nd minute, as Alberth Elis drew a foul, then scored on the subsequent free kick, heading in Tomas Martinez's set piece service to tie it at 1-1.
