Reduced to 10 men for more than an hour, the Houston Dynamo looked to be on the verge of a win before a late rally gave New York City FC a 3-2 win at Yankee Stadium.
Tied 1-1 at the half, the two teams waited out a 76-minute weather delay in the locker room before resuming play in the second half. The delay produced a back-and-forth second half that featured three goals and two lead changes, with New York City FC grabbing the winner in the third minute of stoppage time.
New York took the lead in the 16th minute after five-pass combination the top of the penalty area.
