The NWSL is searching for a new commissioner after Jeff Plush stepped down from the position after two years on the job.
The league made the announcement in a press release Thursday. It immediately will begin a national search for his replacement.
Plush oversaw the league through key events like the sale of the Western New York Flash to the owners of North Carolina FC in addition to the Orlando Pride joining the league as an expansion club.
He also was a key figure in negotiating the league's partnership with A+E Networks, a three-year broadcast deal with Lifetime.
