Major League Soccer (MLS) announced today new television agreements across three continents. These new deals will add MLS programming in India, Honduras and New Zealand.
In South Asia, MLS has partnered with India’s DSport to broadcast five MLS regular season matches per week, select MLS Cup Playoff games and MLS Cup. DSport is a premium sports channel in India launched by Discovery Communications, which also owns MLS’ pan-European broadcast partner Eurosport.
In Central America, MLS announced a new partnership with Honduras’ R-Media to televise one live regular season match per week, the MLS All-Star Game; the MLS Cup Playoff games and MLS Cup.
