The Houston Dash acquired midfielder Betsy Brandon as a national team replacement, the club announced today.
Drafted in the 2019 NWSL College Draft, Brandon has been training with the team since preseason. The University of Virginia standout joins Houston as Lindsay Agnew, Allysha Chapman, Rachel Daly, Kayla McCoy, Clare Polkinghorne, Nichelle Prince, Sophie Schmidt and Kyah Simon have been named to their respective national team rosters for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
“We drafted her and she’s been with us throughout the preseason. This is a reward for the effort and development that she’s shown over the last ten weeks,” said head coach James Clarkson.
