Wednesday, the Houston Dash’s Melissa Henderson announced that she would be retiring from soccer (again) after five seasons playing in the NWSL. Henderson retired at the end of the 2015 season but came back before the start of the 2016 season. The forward made 37 appearances for the Dash and tallied two assists after coming to the club from FCKC. Houston picked up Henderson through a trade with Kansas City in the summer of 2014. She made 22 regular season appearances with FCKC in 2013-14 season, and scored one goal in the 2013 NWSL playoffs.
The Texas native played for Notre Dame in college under former Dash head coach Randy Waldum and was part of the 2010 NCAA National Championship team.
