Mauro Manotas scores first MLS hat trick, sixth in Houston Dynamo history

Houston Dynamo forward Mauro Manotas scored his first career MLS hat trick in a 3-1 win over the Portland Timbers on Saturday night. It was the sixth hat trick in Houston Dynamo history and first since April 29, 2011.

The Colombian joins Brian Ching, Brad Davis, Nate Jaqua, and Will Bruin in the club record books with three or more goals in a single game. Ching scored the first in the team's inaugural match on April 2, 2006, netting four goals against the Colorado Rapids. The Dynamo tallied two in the 2007 season, with Davis getting his on June 21 and Jaqua adding another on September 8.
