Preseason games have a singular focus for Houston Dynamo head coach Owen Coyle, and his tune isn’t changing ahead of Saturday’s match in Tucson against the San Jose Earthquakes (6 p.m. CT; HoustonDynamo.com/live).
“We’re looking to attain that match fitness,” Coyle told HoustonDynamo.com after the team’s training session Friday morning. “And again looking to get players minutes so that they can know the angles and everything acquired in a game situation as opposed to training.”
As is customary in preseason, especially in the first handful of games, the number of players that are able to see the field for that precious game time regularly exceeds 20.
