John Arnold was named the chairman of Houston’s bid committee to land a host spot for the 2026 World Cup.
Arnold, former CEO of Centaurus Energy, is chair of the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, which is focused on social, economic and government systems and improving lives of individuals.
Sixty matches of the 2026 World Cup will be played in the U.S. Ten each will be in Canada and Mexico as part of the North American event.
All matches from the quarterfinals on will be in the U.S.
Each host city would have six games during the 32-day event.
