That narrative began to shift as soon as the lineups were announced and Cubo Torres was set to start for the Dynamo. Torres started up top as Giles Barnes was dropped back into the midfield.
Sporting Kansas City dominated possession in the first thirty minutes of the game but it was Houston who would score first.
