Houston Dynamo forward Erick Torres will join Mexican club Cruz Azul on loan for the remainder of 2016, pending Cruz Azul’s receipt of his International Transfer Certificate, the clubs announced today.
Torres, 23, has one assist in 11 appearances (four starts) with the Dynamo this season. The Designated Player and Guadalajara native was a part of Mexico’s squad at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, making two appearances (one start).
“After careful consideration as a club, and following discussions with Erick, we feel at this time he will benefit from a fresh environment going on loan with Cruz Azul,” Dynamo VP/general manager Matt Jordan said.
