The Houston Dynamo have acquired midfielder Eric Alexander from the Montreal Impact in exchange for general and targeted allocation money.
Alexander, 28, has made 178 career MLS appearances, including playoffs, since 2010. The Portage, Michigan native helped the New York Red Bulls win the 2013 MLS Supporters’ Shield, appearing in all 34 regular-season games. He appeared in 80 consecutive regular-season games from October 27, 2012 to June 13, 2015 and started all five MLS Cup Playoff games for the Red Bulls after setting a career-high with nine assists in 2014.
“We’re pleased to welcome a player of Eric’s quality to our club,” Dynamo VP/general manager Matt Jordan said.
