The Houston Dash announced on Monday that they are parting ways with head coach Randy Waldrum. Waldrum was hired as the team’s first head coach in January of 2014 ahead of the club’s inaugural season. Hopes had been high that the Notre Dame coach would be able to convert his college success into success in the pros, however, that hasn’t been the case. The team has missed the playoffs every year and leaves the team with a 19-39-13 record.
“Randy is an excellent coach and a great man. He has been fully committed to the Dash and the pursuit of our goals over the last three and a half years,” said Dash President Chris Canetti in the team’s announcement.
