Houston Dash forward Kayla McCoy will miss the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup due to a knee injury, the team announced today. The forward suffered the injury during a friendly game with Jamaica against Scotland last week in preparation for the tournament.
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced that McCoy will remain with Jamaica during the World Cup and go through rehabilitation with their medical team. She will be replaced on Jamaica’s roster by Mireya Grey. Additional information regarding her availability for the Dash will be provided in the coming days.
Twenty year old Mireya Grey will replace Kayla McCoy in Jamaica's official twenty -three member playing squad for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
