The Houston Dash hit the post three times but were held scoreless at BBVA Compass Stadium this afternoon as they fell to Seattle Reign FC 2-0 on Lifetime’s NWSL Game of the Week.
The opening goal came seconds before the first half hydration break as Megan Rapinoe’s left-footed shot in the 30th minute deflected off a Dash defender and evaded a lunging Lydia Williams at the near post.
Katie Johnson, a first-half substitute after a knee injury to forward Beverly Yanez, doubled Seattle’s lead in the 64th minute. The forward spun away from a Dash defender to create space for a shot that beat Williams at the near post.
