French Guiana's national team will pay the price for a defiant move it made in Houston this week.
The CONCACAF Gold Cup Disciplinary Committee on Friday morning announced its ruling that French Guiana must forfeit its group stage game against Honduras played Tuesday at BBVA Compass Stadium because it used Florent Malouda, who before the tournament was ruled to be ineligible.
Additional sanctions include an undisclosed fine and the suspension of Malouda for two games. Malouda also is banned from the stadium for those two games.
French Guiana and Honduras played to a 0-0 draw, but that result has been changed to 3-0 by the Disciplinary Committee.
