The chances are low that the Dynamo land an impact player for the first team in Friday's MLS SuperDraft, but general manager Matt Jordan said Thursday he is hopeful the club can still pull it off.
The Dynamo have the No. 20 overall selection in the first round and No. 43 overall in the second round. The first two rounds will be held live in Philadelphia on Friday. The third and fourth rounds will be conducted via conference call on Sunday.
With high profile international signings becoming the norm in MLS these days, it is becoming less likely that clubs find college players who play important minutes during their rookie seasons – especially in the back half of the first round where the Dynamo will pick.
