Memo Rodriguez is making headline after headline.
Four days after he made his MLS debut with the Dynamo, Rodriguez scored a brace for Rio Grande Valley FC in a 3-1 victory over Colorado Switchbacks FC.
Both goals came in the first half as RGV FC, the Dynamo’s USL affiliate, improved to 2-2 overall and gained its first victory at H-E-B Park.
On the first goal, Rodriguez beat a Switchbacks FC defender for a header on a bouncing ball at the top of the penalty area and hit it toward the goal. Rodriguez got the ball before it landed, and tapped it past the oncoming goalkeeper into the empty net.
