Darwin Ceren expected to get plenty of minutes this season with the Dynamo, but he was surprised to be called into action so early in last weekend’s season opener.
Ceren played well in relief of the injured midfielder Juan David Cabezas, which was a good sign for the Dynamo because he’s likely to be called in again shortly.
Assistant coach Michael Dellorusso said Tuesday that Cabezas will miss ‘a couple of weeks’ with a strained left quadriceps muscle. It opens the door for Ceren to start his first game Saturday when the Dynamo play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BBVA Compass Stadium.
