Dynamo's DaMarcus Beasley to retire at end of season

On Monday, in the midst of his 20th season playing as a professional soccer player, Houston Dynamo captain and defender DaMarcus Beasley announced that this would be his final season.

"Before my 37th birthday, I'd just like to say that this year will be my last," he tweeted. "Being on the pitch has fulfilled every dream I could have ever imagined."

Beasley's club career has spanned six countries (England, Germany, Mexico the Netherlands, Scotland, and the United States). He represented the United States in over 130 appearances between the U-17, U-20, and senior sides. He's the only American men's player to appear in four World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014).
