The Dynamo open the playoffs with a knockout round game against Sporting Kansas City Thursday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.
It is the Dynamo's first playoff appearance since 2013. Sporting Kansas City, meanwhile, is in the postseason for a seventh consecutive season.
Thursday's winner advances to the Western Conference semifinals to face the Portland Timbers.
