The Houston Dynamo's offseason focus on defense continued through Friday's MLS SuperDraft.
In the first round, the Dynamo selected University of California-Berkeley left back Sam Junqua. Houston traded goalkeeper Chris Seitz to D.C. United for the 33rd overall pick in the second round, which they used to pick right back Andrew Samuels from the University of Maryland.
"We couldn't be any happier with how the draft turned out today," Dynamo general manager Matt Jordan said. "There is a lot of hard work and preparation that goes into to getting to this point, and both our first team and reserve team staffs did an outstanding job getting us ready.
