The addition of a 12th team to MLS’ Western Conference will have no effect on the scheduling of the Texas Derby for the 2018 regular season.
Just like in 2017, the Dynamo will face rival FC Dallas three times this year, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the Chronicle.
FC Dallas is the only team the Dynamo will play three times during the regular season.
The Dynamo played three games apiece against three Western Conference teams last season. Two games in 2018 against expansion club Los Angeles FC will replace the other two ‘third’ games.
