Two hours before Wednesday’s game against Sporting Kansas City, Dynamo midfielder Juan David Cabezas was working out on the field with the other players who were not in the game day lineup.
It was a curious sight because on Tuesday, coach Wilmer Cabrera said Cabezas was healthy enough to play Wednesday after missing the Sept. 27 game with a right hamstring injury. Cabezas looked the part of an in-form player as he worked out, but Cabrera already had decided not to use him in the game.
He said the decision was precautionary for one of the team’s most dependable and effective players.
