The two players the Dynamo picked on the first day of the MLS SuperDraft will not have to wait for their first chance in MLS.
Goalkeeper Michael Nelson and forward Mac Steeves have signed first-team contracts with the Dynamo ahead of Saturday's regular season opener.
Nelson was the No. 20 overall pick and Steeves the No. 43 overall pick.
Nelson grew up as a Dynamo fan while attending Seven Lakes High School. He went on to play for SMU. The Dynamo saw Nelson up close before the SuperDraft when he attended a small goalkeeper camp in Houston.
