The Houston Dynamo have signed Houston native Guillermo “Memo” Treviño as the first professional esports athlete in club history, the club announced today.

“We’re excited to be a part of this forward-thinking initiative in an effort to continue to grow our brand. We’re proud to have a Houston native representing our club and to have signed Memo as our first eMLS competitor,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “It was important to identify an excellent player who knows how to win and a bonus to find someone from within our community.”

Treviño, who will play under the name “HOU Kid M3Mito,” is one of the most accomplished FIFA ’18 competitors in North America.
